Aphanos is a specialized software platform that streamlines pharmacogenomic (PGx) consultations for pharmacists. The platform consolidates and analyzes patient genetic data from multiple sources, enabling pharmacists to deliver faster, more accurate medication recommendations. By automating data collection and report generation, Aphanos transforms time-intensive PGx consultations into efficient, data-driven sessions.

Our comprehensive solution includes patient profile management, automated data integration, and consultation asset generation, allowing pharmacists to focus on what matters most - providing personalized medication guidance to their patients. This streamlined approach not only saves valuable consultation time but also enhances the quality and consistency of PGx services across pharmacy practices.
My Contributions
As the founder, I've played a bit of all the roles throughout the project's life.
  • Architected and developed the full-stack PGx consultation platform from concept to MVP, including designing the database schema, implementing secure patient data management, and building RESTful APIs to handle complex pharmacogenomic data integration
  • Led comprehensive market analysis and customer discovery, conducting over 20 interviews with pharmacists across independent, chain, and hospital settings to validate product-market fit and refine the platform's feature set based on real user needs
  • Spearheaded business strategy and go-to-market planning, including developing tiered pricing models, creating financial projections, and designing a phased rollout strategy targeting a $645M market opportunity in pharmacy time-savings

As the founder and technical lead, I architected and built a comprehensive solution that integrates complex genetic data from multiple sources, automates report generation, and provides an intuitive interface for patient profile management. The platform significantly reduces consultation preparation time while improving the accuracy and consistency of PGx services.

Through extensive market research and direct engagement with potential customers, I validated the market need and refined the product vision to address critical pain points in PGx workflow management. The MVP demonstrates strong technical capabilities in handling sensitive healthcare data, RESTful API design, and complex data integration, while maintaining a focus on user experience and HIPAA compliance. This project showcases my ability to lead full-stack development while simultaneously driving business strategy and customer discovery in a healthcare technology context.
